Message from the Club President (Spring 2021)

Updated: May 22, 2021

Greetings Yale FSC Skaters, Families and Friends,

Our country and the world has been rocked by the challenges presented by the Covid-19 pandemic. We hope that you have been able to find comfort and solace during this difficult time. When the pandemic struck, the Yale Figure Skating Club was in the process of transitioning to our new rink at Quinnipiac University. Suddenly, we were without club ice for an entire skating season.

Hopefully, many of our current and former members have been able to find ice during this past skating season And, hopefully, we shall be able to offer a new skating season once the pandemic abates and life can begin to return to normal.

Meanwhile, we have been busy working on our future transition to our new rink on the York Hill Campus of Quinnipiac University at the People’s United Center Stadium. We have revised our bylaws that now demonstrate our independence from Yale University. We hope to have the new name selected by the Board of Directors approved by the membership at a special meeting in just a few weeks.

We remain hopeful and optimistic as we transition into a new skating season at a new rink with a new name! Please watch for more news this spring. We welcome all skating families in south central Connecticut to join us in this transition in the coming season!

Yours,

Nancy Brittingham, President

Yale Figure Skating Club
