Message from the Club President (Nov 2022)

Greetings Blue Edge Members, Guests, Families and Friends, Our first fall skating season on the York Hill Campus of Quinnipiac University is underway! The rink is now a busy place, with Blue Edge Practice Ice sessions on Tuesday evenings and Sunday mornings, our weekly Learn to Skate session on Sundays as well as the addition of the Hamden FSA CT Ice Fusion synchro team practice Sunday mornings. Our Program Director, John Cain, can also be seen coaching the Quinnipiac Collegiate team weeknights. Many thanks to the Quinnipiac hockey teams for sharing their home ice with all of us! For those of you who have taken advantage of Blue Edge sessions, thank you. Registration for Blue Edge programs continues to be available on EntryEeze, which can be accessed through our website at blueedgefsc.org. New skaters can register at any time, so please spread the word! Learn to Skate sessions continue every Sunday through December 18, culminating with a holiday show for all! You may still register your beginner skater at a prorated cost. The Blue Edge winter session will begin Practice Ice Tuesday, January 2. Winter Learn to Skate and Practice Ice begins on Sunday, January 8. Winter session registration will be posted on EntryEeze shortly. We have the ice through March and into April, although there will be some disruptions due to hockey events and the CT Synchronized Skating Classic on Sunday, February 12. Blue Edge is also planning a spring test session in April 2023 for regular members of Blue Edge and other clubs.. Please note that the People’s United Center is currently in the process of changing its name to the M&T Bank Arena. Watch for new signage. The Blue Edge Board is currently working with merchandise vendors to offer club apparel to our members and friends. Watch for information on how to order and purchase skating jackets and hooded pullover sweatshirts featuring our logo. Hope to see you soon, Nancy Brittingham, President Blue Edge FSC of CT
