Message from the Club President (Sept 2021)

I am writing to give you a brief update on the status of the Blue Edge Figure Skating Club regarding our efforts to return to the ice and to be able to offer you our practice sessions and our high quality Learn to Skate program.

As you know, the Club had been negotiating with Quinnipiac University in Hamden to move our program to the People’s Center on the York Hill Campus. The COVID-19 pandemic shut everything down in March of 2020, and our planning ground to a halt.

We are still hoping to resume planning with Quinnipiac as they have indicated every intention to have us at their facility at some point in the future. We just don’t know when!

Meanwhile, we have tentatively arranged to hold a Blue Edge Test Session at the Newington Arena on Saturday, December 11, 2021.

We hope that you have been able to find ice, either for practice, private lessons, or in order to participate in a Learn to Skate program with family and friends.

We shall keep you posted on our progress.
